Alight guys here's my update. There has been a lot of things that have gone on since I last updated. I have started working at Port Orleans and am loving it. My porters family is awesome and we went to animal kingdom, magic kingdom, and Hollywood studio, we also wore birthday pins and family reunion pins pretending to be an adopted family. One night after work at 1:30 in the morning we made cookies after work at one of my friends house.

I have also started talking to my managers about looking into shadowing either guest relations or front desk.

I have been going to all the parks as many times as I can, every spare second I've got is spent at a park.

Now I will update with some photos that I have.

Today was day one in my amazing Disney adventures. I am finally here after such a long wait.

My day started off yesterday leaving Utah at eight in the afternoon and flying to LA from there I got a connecting flight to Orlando which landed at five in the morning, which is today. Then I sat in the airport for my roommate to show up so we could take the shuttle together to check in. Funny thing was that we were on separate sides of the airport so we just said we'd see each other later. I showed up and was able to walk through all the check ins, photo, documentation, and other stuff I needed to do. Then I was lucky enough to have the tour vans take me and my luggage to my room at Pattersons. When I got there I loaded all my stuff in my room, after taking a good half hour to decide which one was bigger. So then from there I went to go wait for my bus to take me to Casting. On the way there the cast member Nicole who was giving us info about what we were supposed to expect was very funny and made it a great time for us.

At casting there was no line for me to wait in. At first that is, we were then shoveled into another line to wait for our I-9 processing, from their we went to another line to verify that they have received the paperwork. Then I was informed by this man to leave since I was completely done but I had heard of having to do fingerprints for background checks. After another ten minutes we got that all sorted out.

After that I started hanging with some new friends and we went to chick-fil-a for lunch and shopping at Target cause I need food for the next little while. When I arrived home still no one else was home so I just started to unpack. Just as I was finishing up my roommate showed up to unpack as well. As soon as he was done we went to downtown Disney to go exploring and to buy our lanyards so that we wouldn't have to keep pulling our ID badge out of our wallets.

So now I sit here, tired as all can be and ready to move on to the next day and start working.

And now I wait.

This past week has gone by so fast. I have had a blast seeing all my old friends and my family before I left. I was able to see iron man 3 two times, the great Gatsby two times, and Jurassic park 3D. I can't believe I'm finally here, I've been waiting for this for some time now and i'm so stoked. Now I'm just waiting for my plane to arrive and in the meantime I will silently freak out to myself.

I got home today from college and will be spending the next week with my family and friends before I leave for Disneyworld. It's exciting!!!!!

I first found a facebook page of other people that are leaving the same day as I. Then I was lucky enough to find five awesome roommates. In the past you would have to arrive all together, but they wanted to start this new program called DORM which was supposed to help with preregistration. We were told that out of our groups we were supposed to have one person put in the registration numbers of everyone else in the group. But when the program started it started out that we could only put in one person, then they updated it so that we could add three additional people so that we can have a group of four. This sucks because we had five people so trying to figure stuff out right now is crazy. But we're hoping to work things out so that the roommates we picked on facebook will work out.

2 weeks. I leave for Florida in two weeks. This is coming up fast and I am so excited. I'm going to miss all my friends in St. George that I will be leaving behind, but we all know how small the theatre world is and that I will see them again. Plus some of the those that are still stuck there when I get back I will see. Also I will be missing all my professors in the theatre department because they all believe in me and want what's best and i'm going to miss that.

I leave this thursday to go live with my family for one last week before I leave. I also remember the first time I told my mom the day that I chose to arrive at the DCP she was a little upset cause I was choosing a date so close that I wouldn't have a whole lot of time to spend with them, then when we booked my flight which leaves on the 12th. A couple minutes after she booked it she called me back and was chewing me out because I was leaving her on mothersday. I love my family and I will miss them while I am away.

Lastly I am so excited to finally meet all these wonderful new friends I have made on the facebook page. I like the idea of a group of people getting together with the same love and passion as I do for the Disney company. Plus I'm excited to meet my roommates, talking with them on facebook has been awesome and it gets me more and more excited.

So I just finished some more research. I am super excited as it gets closer and closer, but like all decisions of course I also have some doubts. But it will be an adventure.

I'm counting down the days.... ugh the suspense is killing me.... only 48 more days.

Wednesday, March 13, 2013

Woke up this morning feeling like all of this good news was a dream. So I quickly jumped on my laptop and reread all my e-mails just to make sure it wasn't a dream. Also today I have selected my leaving date. I will be leaving for Florida May 13th... that is exactly 2 months from now :D. I feel bad cause when I told my mom she said I was a snot head for trying to leave so fast, but I love her and I know that she is excited for me. Disney here I come.

So this is the beginning. Today has started off amazing. I got my acceptance letter to go and work at DisneyWorld for the college internship program. I'm so excited and can't wait, I've been telling everyone I can think of. I will be starting this May and will be working in quick food and beverage services.
